Career job information for job seekers and find good employment job

by: anthonybroderick

Introduction

Jobs advice isn't as easy to find as you may think it is, unless you start to think out of the box a little rather than just treading the well worn path that all the other job seekers are taking.

Making choices about your career is intensely difficult when you are a student. How do you even know what is really out there and which is the best career for you to commence on?

Use the power of the Internet

The Internet was not ready for use for researching jobs as recently as fifteen years ago so using it now to find out about your ideal career is a must in this day and age. Most recruitment companies are online and display their most recent vacancies for you to look through and decide what you want to do.

Rewrite your CV to guarantee that it will be looked at as often as possible

A good CV often lands the best job. You need to be straight forward about your experience and references but a well written CV gives you the best chance especially if you are in competition with others who have not spent the appropriate time writing a skillful CV.

Once you have rewritten it then go and ask the opinions of family members and friends. Ask them to be brutal so that you can have the best CV possible. Rewrite your CV using the feedback gained from this exercise and then compare it to the original one you first wrote - notice the difference? So will potential employers.

Do something different to stand out from the crowd

A good starting point is to ask your family members and their friends. At least they should give you a fair answer- they should tell you just how it is. The problem is when they do not have the background or jobs advice in the type of work you are interested in or passionate about - what do you do then?
One way is to go out and talk to people who are already working or have worked in your preferred career path and ask them to help you out with applicable jobs advice that will be useful for you when you are in a position to make a decision.

Maintain a positive attitude

If you believe that you will succeed or you believe that you will fail you will be correct. If you maintain a positive attitude throughout you will get that job. The best jobs advice is counterproductive if you turn up for an interview with a bad attitude and don't make a great impression. You have one chance to wow the interviewers so take it with both hands and do the best you can.

A new way of job research is by way of pod-casting.

Students are producing podcasts by interviewing business owners and managers and finding out for themselves what life is all about from people who have been there and done it. They are encouraged to create their own podcasts and publish them on the pods4jobs website.
