5. When applying for cruise ship employment create a note of all the works you are seeking. Don’t just apply for one job, but apply for several. Design your resume around per job:  one CV per work application. Most cruise lines will inform you of the preferred formatting so type it out efficiently using the formatting required. It must stand out, yours will be one of many, make it interesting.
6. Be positive in your application. Be honest, display a self-belief in your qualification. Don’t undervalue yourself nor overestimate your abilities, but write in a believable manner, don’t overstate yourself. Think of what you would be seeking for if you were checking the resume of somebody applying for the work.
7. Once you are sure that the resume for each cruise ship job looks professional let some family members or friends check it over for you. They will be honest in their opinion and will spot any errors you have missed.
8. You will have to provide a covering letter along with your resume. This is just as crucial because a poor covering letter will likely lead to your resume going into the bin unread. Your covering letter should convince the employer to read your CV and that in turn should convince them to offer you an interview.
9. Once you have double checked the jobs and your qualifications for applying for cruise ship employment of that type, have checked over your CV and are happy with your covering letter, send them off. Make sure everything is in the format asked, and you send them to the stated address. Sometimes the quicker your application is received the more chance you will have of landing a cruise ship job.
10. Lastly, if you are offered an interview, ‘What makes you thing you can do it?’ and even ‘How would you handle being away from your home and family for 9 months?’ make sure you are aware of the questions that might be asked.
